Colin’s flying career went form jets at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell to search and rescue Wessex helicopters in Bahrain. Freelance photography and graphic design followed and became the foundation for his promotional design and marketing services company based in South London.

Jan’s career began in a London advertising agency promoting artists for major record companies. Marketing for the travel industry followed but quickly overwhelmed by the travel bug she decided to stretch her legs and spend two years discovering South East Asia and Australia.

In 1996 after gaining inspiration from Seattle coffee shops and seeing a gap in the UK market, tried out a new concept they had long been considering. The first 'Over the Moon' Coffee Shop was an instant success with second and third units following quickly. Having realised one dream another was soon bubbling under so the shops were sold and they finally made their move ‘West’.

With Colin behind the camera and Jan using her interior design training to style many of their images they formed Cadle Design Partnership in 2002 and have once again immersed themselves into photography and design.

Jan and Colin met on her return to the UK where they successfully expanded the marketing company adding corporate video production to their portfolio and winning an award for Excellence in Communication from the Institute of Public Relations along the way. They later designed and produced a number of successful retail products which sold through W.H. Smith and other major retail chains.
